Corten steel, also known as weathering steel, is a robust material known for its rust-brown appearance. But corten steel is more than just eye-catching. The color of corten steel border edging is orange-brown, formed by a natural rust layer. Corten steel is actually a metal alloy consisting of iron, with copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium added. When exposed to the open air, the material is coated with a protective rust layer. This natural rust layer provides protection against further corrosion, meaning that corten steel edging requires less maintenance and replacement than more traditional materials.

1. SCREWING: A commonly used method to determine the shape of your border edging is the use of hardwood posts. These 50x50 mm posts are available in lengths of 400, 600 or 800 mm. For a border edging of 2300 mm, you will need four posts. Optionally, the strips of the border edging can be perforated to facilitate screwing - screws are included in the package.
   

2. WELDING: Corten steel posts provide an excellent method for determining the shape of your border edging. For a border edging of 2300 mm, you will need four of these 30x30 mm posts with a length of 600 mm. Then, you weld the Corten steel border edging seamlessly onto the posts for a robust and attractive appearance.
   

3. WELDING / SCREWING: Using a roof plate to define the shape of the border edging is also a practical option. The plate can be welded or screwed onto the support posts (screws or rivets are not included). For a border edging of 2300 mm, you'll need 4 posts. Bear in mind that gutters can only be used in combination with 2 and 3 mm border edgings.
